Amer fort was built in the late 16th century AD. It was the old capital of the Kachwaha rulers. Amer is surrounded by the Aravalli hills. The palace’s border walls are 19 km long and it is the 3rd longest in the world after the Great Wall of China and Kumbalgarh Fort. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Jaigarh fort is visible from Amer fort and it is at a distance of 10 km. There are secret passage ways from Amer to Jaigarh.

Patwaon ki Haveli was built in 1805 by a wealthy merchant in Jaisalmer. It was the most intricately carved havelis that I had ever seen and it took 55 years to build this incredible series of 5 mansions. #melangeoftales #jaisalmerblog #bangaloreblogger #patwaonkihaveli @rajasthan_tourism

There are very few living forts in the world and Jaisalmer fort is India’s only living fort and also a UNESCO world heritage site. Khecheopalri lake in West Sikkim is considered to be one of the most sacred lakes amongst Buddhists. It is said to be at least 3500 years old. Legend has it that a pair of conch shells dropped from the sky after which the ground shook vigorously uncovering a spring of water from the ground which eventually formed this lake.

The city of Bhuj has raised like a phoenix out of fire after the 2001 earthquake but there are still scars that you can see like the one in this picture.
Prag and Aina Mahal were severely damaged due to the earthquake but most of it was reconstructed and brought back to the state where it is now.
